Thanks to the booming digital camera market most of us now how have cameras capable of taking high resolution photos suitable for printing.
Which photos make good Birthday presents?
This is largely down to your good judgement I’m afriad! But don’t be afriad to follow your instinct and pick something that you think they’re gonna love. I always think it’s better to take a risk than play it safe, in my experience we’re much better at making these choices than we think!
Here are some suggestions for you:
- You: Perhaps not a good idea if you this gift is for a friend, but your partner should hopefully appreciate this one!
- Children: This is the perfect option for grand parents and other close relatives. My wife also loved the pictures of our new born baby that I gave her shortly after his birth.
- Montage: This is a good one for friends. Put together a selection of photos from a shared event – it could be from a concert, holiday or whatever. Pick out a set of the best photos and throw them together!
- Pet: We all form strong bonds with our pets, so a photo of the family cat or dog will work well.

How to Chose a Photo Frame
So now that your photo printed and ready to give to your lucky friend, you’ll want to pick out a frame. This can be just as tricky as chosing the photo in the first place!
When buying a gift photo frame I always go for plain wood, and then the only choice is to go for light or dark. Wooden frames will suit most rooms so you shouldn’t have to worry about whether it will go. A plain approach has a much reduced chance of offending someone’s tastes – but remember, you know this person so trust your own gut feeling!
If you can put together several photos that tell a story then go for a frame that can hold multiple photos.
