My son has been desperate to walk long before his first birthday and as he approaches one he is getting more and more mobile.
So to help him get around we decided to buy him a trike for his first birthday.
Nothing too complicated, just something he can sit on whilst propelling himself along with his feet!
Children’s Trikes
The three wheel trike is a classic children’s toy. I can still remember the little tractor toy that I used to drive up and down the garden as a toddler and now I have a son of my own I can see his natural desire to get mobile.
Although it’s not quite like buying a car even a Trike does have a few options to chose from!
You’ll want to consider the following:
- Some come with pedals attached to the front wheel, others are just going to rely on leg pushes.
- The prime trike comes with a height adjustable seat that can move as your child grows.
- Does your toddler like to haul other toys around the house? Then you’ll need to buy an accompanying trailer.
- I’m a big fan of squeaking toys, so if there is a beeping horn on the trike, that’s a bonus!
Note: Some trikes are aimed at older children so check the manufacturer’s recommendations
Before long your toddler will be zipping around the house and garden on their own set of wheels. The days when they were content to lie on their back for hours on end are long gone!
